This actually is a question about computer hardware standards, but I cannot find a forum.

I am examining a caddy that holds 3-1/2" SATA drives and connects them to the computer.  This, and a whole bunch of other stuff, can only work if there is a specification for the size and tolerances of the enclosure, and electrical specification and physical location of connectors on the rear.

Does anybody know where I can search for this stuff?  I am going back to try Wikipedia again, but there must be an association somewhere.

   Thanks.

RE: SATA Drive Bays

This might be a good opportunity to check out Tek-Tips.com, which is geared towards computer related issues.  I'm not sure there's a posting similar to this, but the people there are probably more knowledgeable about this type of question.
