is there anyway to have the dimensions look the same as autocad. for example the dimension text to be above the dimension line. can we have the inch mark show up on all dimensions.

If you want it to look like A*cad, use A*cad!

You can do a lot with the settings in your .dtl file.
PTC's Help Topic collection has a drawing manual that covers all .dtl settings.
