Anyone know how to make Hot cure Silicone Rubber metal detectable?
We want to mould some seals for a bakery and the parts need to be able to be detected by their metal detector in case they break up and land in the bread.

RE: Making Silicone Rubber metal detectable

Mix powdered metal into the silicone.

Thanks, but I am concerned about it effecting the properties and I also need the mix to be FDA approved for food contact. Do you know of a metal powder that would meet this?

RE: Making Silicone Rubber metal detectable

Try contacting detectamet, they can either supply the rubber already metal detectable or supply fda compliant additive
