Modelling Ponded Water in SlopeW

Modelling Ponded Water in SlopeW

Modelling Ponded Water in SlopeW

(OP)
Hi All

Using SlopeW 2004, I am trying model water against the slope using the zero strength model, which allows only the stress imparted on the slope into the calc.

However I am getting failure through the zero strength material !! anyone ever heard or come across this issue before in SlopeW?

RE: Modelling Ponded Water in SlopeW

IOD,

I used to get this all the time. Ignore the portion of the failure surface through the water. Since it is defined as a material, the engine isn't smart enough to terminate the failure surface at the lower boundary of the water. Or you can use a varying sucharge against the actual slope surface if you wnat more pretty output. Shouldn't make a big difference either way.
