Valve test rig design

Valve test rig design

Valve test rig design

hi guys, wondering if any of you can point me in the direction of some info regarding test rig design.

I'm considering setting up in business and need a test rig for small "kunkle" type safety valves.

I am a capable engineer and have been working in a valve shop for two years but it has now closed down.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Some of the larger companies, at least available in Europe, are selling (sold?) ready equipped test benches for small saafety valves.

I tried google and got a number of answers on searching for test benches safety valves, theese days including China.

See what you can find on the net, ready constructions!

Another way is of course to look at the specifications for the tests /certificates and approvals you have to comply to and certify for.

You may want to look at www.ventil.nl - A dutch manufacturer of test benches.

Thanks fella's but i don't think i can afford to buy something right now.

My last employer made there own and from what i could see there wasn't too much to it to be honest.

I just thought someone might have been in the same boat at some point and made one of their own from existing plans somewhere in cyberspace.

Thirlemere,

The test rig set up for a safety valve is simple enough...
A bench, tubing, fittings, pressure regulators, pressure gaugees to cover your testing range (depending if direct or pilot operated, you may need more than one gauge working at the same time), compressor & air volume tank.
Your real problem lies in health & safety at work regulations, depending on country, this may more difficult than may appear.

I suggest you look at safety at work requirements closely before you start costing up the rig.

Ciao,
