18-8 SMO?

18-8 SMO?

18-8 SMO?

(OP)
I have dealt with many alloys over the years but I am not familiar
with the SMO of this designation.  This is for a gauge valve.
1/2" Mpt X Fpt rated for max pres. of 3000 psig.

Please enlighten me.

Thanks

RE: 18-8 SMO?

Are you sure that the designation is not 18-8 SMo.  This is a 18 CR, 8 Ni, +Mo that is called out for medical implants especially screws.
It is also called out as you posted 18-8 SMO which is technically wrong but used.

RE: 18-8 SMO?

And it will not be significantly different from 316
