2010 toolbox configuring-adding in part numbers for bom

(OP)
I've gone thru the tedius labor of adding the part numbers, thru the toolbox configurer.  I've typed in each of my different screws part numbers, so that when the bill of materials is printed on an assembly drawing a person can just go and order the number, instead of decoding HX-shcs0.375-16x1.5x1.5-n.  Now I go to make the bom on the drawing, and under part number I still get the configuration number printed in the part number column.
What am I doing wrong?

RE: 2010 toolbox configuring-adding in part numbers for bom

If you open the fastener file, select the configurations tab above the feature tree and right click on one of the configuration and select properties there should be a section titled "Bill of Materials Options" where you can control this behavior.  I think each configuration can have its own setting.  You may be able to change them all at once by changing the settings in the default configuration.
