Hard Facing Weld Electrodes

Hard Facing Weld Electrodes

Hard Facing Weld Electrodes

(OP)
Can anyone recommend a good hard facing weld electrode for a medium temperature, high abrasive, high impact service?  The service is a slurry, lots of sand and lots of rocks, carbon steel pipe with hard faced overlay elbows.  The operating temperature is between just above freezing to 35C and a velocity of up to 4.5 fps.  We've tried Arctec 661T but it doesn't seem to handle the rock impacts well at these lower temperature and chips off.

RE: Hard Facing Weld Electrodes

I'm going with wire as it appears you have lot of area to cover. If you need electrods for SMAW comeback.

I've had very results with either Postle's or Polymet's products.  I would give them a call where you can provided all the specifics needed for a recommendation.
