Calculix and foundation design

(OP)
Hi all,

I am a geotechnical engineer quite familiar with Plaxis 2D.
I want to try some foundation 3D modelling.

I've heard about a general purpose FEM software Calculix. I am wondering if any of you have any experience on the use of that software for geotechnical modelling. If so, I would appreciate any opinion about the subject.

I don't mind if it is not user friendly. On the other hand, I would like to know if it is possible to model the staged construction and if there are interface element implemented.

I've tried to get an opinion from the "Finite Element Analysis engineering forum"... not sucessfully so far... but never too late if the advice is good winky smile

Thank you in advance

Toni
