NX process studio for CAM?

NX process studio for CAM?

NX process studio for CAM?

(OP)
Hello,

I have a question, can NX process studio create some manufacturing processes for NX CAM sessions?

Thanks.

RE: NX process studio for CAM?

Yes. In nx6.0 it is not very practical because you cannot use your own cam templates. In order to get it to work you need to do a substantial bit of code hacking. In nx7 a more polished version is implemented.

On the dutch siemens plm site there is a brief kind of tutorial. http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/nl_nl/products/tips_tricks/tips_tricks_nx/index.shtml?elq=645250d650ba4db799380d98d7963ee1

Hello again,

Yes I want to customize my own CAM templates on NX6 but I have see that is imposible. I think that I can use my own can templates for customize wizards on NX7.

But I don't know...

Thanks.

Hi,

How can I use my own templates on NX6 and NX7 in process studio?

I have to do some code programming or another thing?

Thanks.

RE: NX process studio for CAM?

Correction: Manufacturing Wizard Builder has always allowed you to use your own templates. Go to File, Export, Manufacturing Wizard.

Hi Mark,

I can export my own .xml file, but when I load it on the process studio. The templates that I see there are the NX default ones.

I can't select my on templates on the process studio, on the template part. I don't know why, because the my custom template is located on

C:\program files\UGS\NX 6.0\MACH\resource\template_part\metric

and the .xml file is

C:\programs\UGS\NX 6.0\MACH\resource\wizard\localization

Thanks,

RE: NX process studio for CAM?

I think you are not allowed to have your own directory of wizards (unless you direct it by default to your own) in the help file it is stated that you 'must' use the UGII_CAM_WIZARD_DIR.

Hi,

I upload a photo, I want to know how can I enter here more templates (cutomized ones). Because NX help dosen't help me much on this topic. On ugii_env.dat archive?? or on other archive...

I don't know, where I have to change the code rutes.
Or add some external program...

Thanks.

RE: NX process studio for CAM?

I am confused by your postings. On Dec 7 last year, you posted the answer to the question you asked today. The old post contains the correct procedure.

The help also describes what is exported, and what folders are involved.

I tried the export, and it worked fine for me - see attached picture.

At this point, I recommend you contact GTAC.

Hi Mark,

Sorry, I have phone GTAC. Yes you ARE right, I was missing one step.

Thanks for all.

RE: NX process studio for CAM?

Hi Mark,

Sorry, I was opening the template before exporting it.

So I was totally wrong, GTAC explained me that I was doing wrong. I have just done one wizard, so I am just new user on this program.

I have to say, that this NX module for manufacturing is totally amazing, I like so much. I think that is a goal for NX CAM.

Thanks,
