Match edge of two surfaces
Match edge of two surfaces
(OP)
Hello,
I am trying to make a solid on the corner of the sample.prt.
I have bridge curves and through curve mesh.
Without doing a trim and extend then trimming the surfaces, I cannot sew them into a solid.
The blue surface edge does not match the green surface edge.
Doing a deviation analysis, I get 0.25mm max distance.
I am not sure why I am getting that.
I have been trying to rework this surface for some time now and I have run out of ideas.
I even tried to do the free form "match edge" but it did not work.
The original modeling tolerance I have is 0.001 for distance and 0.1 for angle.
I have 2 other corners where I did the same thing but fortunately, I got them to sew into a solid. I did notice that the through curve mesh does not exactly follow the bridge curves.
I thought that it should always follow the bridge curves.

Doing face analysis reflection shows it still looks OK.

RE: Match edge of two surfaces
Thanks for the reply.
When I create through curve meshes, I usually use the splines to create it even though I already have a surface on both sides.
When creating this one, I did tried to use the edge of the surface. But the result is the same. I am not sure what is going on but the surface was off at max of 0.25mm both on the spline and the side surface.
Could it be one of my settings on creating the through curve mesh? I played around with it, changing the tolerances and other settings but it did not help.
I would like to re-create the surface so that I do not have to use "match edge".
I just checked the model you have created. I guess the difference was that I have both cross edges be "curvature continuous" with the surface close to it. Once I modify your model to have the same settings, I got the 0.25mm gap.
