Possible to "reload" template in existing drawings?

Possible to "reload" template in existing drawings?

(OP)
I want to make a change in my drawing template and apply the change to existing drawings.  Is there a way to do this other than manually changing every existing drawing?

RE: Possible to "reload" template in existing drawings?

(OP)
The changes I am trying to make are in the title block of the template.  Therefore don't I need to somehow reload the template, not the format?  I don't know how to reload a template.

RE: Possible to "reload" template in existing drawings?

If you have an old template in your drawings now and you make a change to that drawing. You will need to save it as a template or you can save it with the same name that you used for that old drawing template. Then once that is completed you only need to reload it from the properties box of the sheet.

To make sure you are reloading the proper template you can check it by clicking on the browse button to see what template is going to be loaded.

I hope that made sense to you?

I think this is what you are after...

Open your template, make your changes and save.

Right-click in any opn area of the drawing and choose properties.

Under sheet format, select 'NONE' and reload.

Now select 'CUSTOM' and browse to your saved file. (Possibly you can do this in 1 step but because of how the formats are stored at my company on the server, we have to do this in two seperate steps.

The only drawback is that you have to do each shet ona ata  time. Possibly someone can show you how to do this easier through API.

RE: Possible to "reload" template in existing drawings?

Actually what meintsi means is not the template but the sheet format. So you open a drawing using the sheet format that you want to change, make the changes then do a save sheet format. You don't need to save the drawing. Then open the drawing you want to update the sheet format, right click on the sheet, select properties, browse to the folder where your updated sheet format is located, make sure you have selected CUSTOM in the box above then click on "reload sheet format". If the size of the sheet format is different you mau need to chage the sheet size as well.
