Making 'Greyed-out' dimensions a solid-attached color

Making 'Greyed-out' dimensions a solid-attached color

(OP)
When I'm editing someone else's work, I like to check the drawing for greyed-out dimensions and re-attach them in order to make sure that my modifications to the part were noticed.  (This isn't always 100% effective, but it's a good check.)

I have no problem re-attaching straight-line dimesnions, however I haven't yet figured out how to re-attach hole callouts without deleting the existing one and re-dimensioning them.  Any help?

What happens when you drag them to the hole edge?

If you drag them to the hole edge - that would work, provided they're not already attached to the hole in question - but most times the hole really doesn't change, and yet the hole call-out is greyed out.
