Where to find pvc or urethane edging for sheet metal?

Where to find pvc or urethane edging for sheet metal?

Where to find pvc or urethane edging for sheet metal?

(OP)
All,

I have to make a sheet metal skin for a machine. Where two panels meet I would like to use some sort of flexible pvc or urethane edging (preferably colored). Specifically, when two panels meet at a corner (90 degrees) I would like to have a piece of edging connect the two. Likewise, when two coplanar panels meet. I would like to find something off the shelf available in the U.S. that I can order readily by the foot.

Similar to these items, but capable of being applied to thin sheet metal.

Thanks,

One suggestion would be to fold over the panels to fit the smallest size available in either catalog.

Trimlok?

I thought about hemming the sheets. I'm not sure if our fab shop can/likes to hem or not. I'll have to ask.

I saw those in Mcmaster, but they're aluminum and the openings are too large for 16 gauge. I'm hoping to find something flexible and colored without having something custom extruded. Sure seems like something should be out there, but so far haven't found the right stuff.

The closest thing that I could see Trimloc has would be the locking gasket for windows. I've used that stuff before (for a sight window in a panel). I need something capable of corners as well as butt joints sheet metal to sheet metal.

Couple of companies (think they were brothers) here in St. Louis that make plastic bolt caps.  They may have something along those lines.  Sorry - can't remember their names right now - but Google should find them under "bolt caps"

If 80/20 is a construction option, they've got some nice OTS edging.

The guys at Air inc came in a few weeks ago and gave a demo. Man I love that stuff.

Other than that i vote mcmaster
