Unknown error message when trying to save

Unknown error message when trying to save

Unknown error message when trying to save

(OP)
I have finished my assy and made a drawing form that assy. I am starting to experience this message when I go to save my drw (drawing) file. "An unknown error occured while accessing W:\folder\folder\drawing name.slddrw
This is a network drive, but I am having no trouble accessing it or saving other files to it. I have also copied the file to my HD and opened it and tried to resave or saveas to my HD, with no luck. Anyone have any idea whats going on with this error?

thanks

RE: Unknown error message when trying to save

Could just be a corrupt file honestly.  Have you tried recreating it?

If it was the network you'd likely see a "Cannot save file" error and not be able to save anything at all.

It isn't a permissions problem?  Ie someone has blocked your read/write access to that folder?  Likely no, but have to ask.

I pinned it down. I had 2 projected views from the main view so I could show how the pcboards mounted. I cropped both of these views to save space on the dwg. I was curious, so I deleted these 2 views, and whamo...I was able to save it. It must be a bug in Solidworks. I generated the 2 views again and so far everything works ans saves. But, it was working yesturday..so we wll see.  thanks guys.
