I need to wire to a piece of equipment from Germany that has a D-sub connector with two very large pins for the power connector.  The shell is the smallest size (like a DB-9, or VGA connector; shell size 1?).  I checked the Amphenol site and the larger distributors, and see similar connectors in larger shells with additional pins, but not this one.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to find this connector?

Thanks,

John D

RE: 2-pin D-sub

Closest I've seen is two power pins in the middle surrounded by a few signal pins... nothing with just the power.

If you haven't already, send an email to the OEM in Germany seeing if they can help. Either with the supplier name and PN of the required mating connector, or perhaps even with a connector itself. It's not likely you're the first with the same issue.

RE: 2-pin D-sub

Go to the Positronic Industries web site. Download their catalog. Look on page 5 at the "Shell size 1" 2WK2 contact arrangement.

RE: 2-pin D-sub

Backshell on page 15 of this Harting Catalogue, and contacts on pages 24 & 25.

I didn't realise there were so many variants.

Stars for you two!  I'm still waiting on a response back from supplier...
