Frameless brushless DC motor

(OP)
Dear all,
I want to design a lightweight device, and I was thinking to use frameless brushless dc motor in order to reduce the overall weight of the device. However, I don't know if it has drawbacks or not. What are the drawbacks of using frameless brushless dc motor?

RE: Frameless brushless DC motor

Opinion:
None, other than the obvious requirement for you to assemble this system and provide the bearing system.  This includes some form of rotor postion feedback for commutation.  You will of course have to find an appropriate supplier for your frameless motor.
