Hello,

As part of wastewater treatment, we need to increase the DO in water.  Someone brought up the idea of using a deep pit (approx. 100').  I have only seen tables relating dissolved oxygen (in mg/L) relating temperature and DO.  I am sure that it is pretty obvious that the deeper the pit, the more DO we can get, but how exactly is that calculated?  I also assume it is directly proportional to the required content? ie. if  10 mg/L DO is acheived in a pit 50 feet deep, then for 20 mg/L, we would need a pit 100 feet deep?  Am I thinking correctly?
