Hi,

I am looking for the best Book that shows you step by step how to design or calculate a rope bridge.

I would appreciate your help if you know a good book.

Thank you

I'm not sure such an example exists.  You may want to investigate a text called Cable Structures by Max Irvine, which would be the closest to providing the theory behind the rope bridge.

I have also an around  100 pages beautiful excerpt by Thomas C. Kavanagh on suspension bridges in my closed cabinet that I access only sometimes a year ... try whilst to identify and find.

Bridges to Prosperity is a charity that has a great website. They erect bridges on poor areas, and their website has a number of resources for the design and construction of simple suspension bridges.

They also have links to other resources, I seem to remember the webpage for the Nepal trail bridge program had quite a bit of information

good link kelowna.

You need the design loadings and a non-linear analysis, as the deformation affects the cable stress.  Determining a reasonable initial sag is the starting point.
