How to delete lightweight body.
How to delete lightweight body.
(OP)
I am running NX 6.0.3.6. I have a layer that information tells me that it has 1 object on it, the object is a lightweight body. I can not see anything when this layer is on and the object is not hidden. Is there anyway to delete this object?

RE: How to delete lightweight body.
The lightweight objects are useful to have around if you have large assemblies, but if like me you have multiple solid bodies in the same file (tool solids) they can get annoying. The system will probably recreate the lightweight solids the next time you save the file unless you have turned this option off (it is probably hiding there somewhere, but I have never bothered to look).

Since that's the case, I can't help but ask WHY are you so concerned about these 'lightweight' bodies in the first place? And why did feel that it was necessary that you delete it?
Now here's the kicker, don't be surprised if it gets recreated on its own. In fact, as we move toward future releases you are going to find that the system is going to depend more and more on lightweight bodies as they are going to be used for more things which today can only be done using a solid/sheet body and therefore they will, as a consequence, be integrated much tightly with the actual solid/sheet bodies and it will thus become harder to avoid them.

RE: How to delete lightweight body.
Is there a way to designate which solid to use to create the lightweight representation? Some of our files have multiple solid bodies in them (tool solids) which renders the lightweight reference set of little use. Likewise many of our parts have sheet bodies in them (used to trim solids) which makes the system generated 'model' reference set (which throws in all the solids and sheets it finds) useless.
RE: How to delete lightweight body.
As for the issue with Sheet bodies inside the Model Reference Set, there is a Customer Default option which can be set which will cause only Solid bodies to be added automatically. Of course there is nothing preventing you from adding or removing any bodies, solids or otherwise, from the Model Reference Set anytime you wish.
You can find that Customer Default settings for Reference Sets at...
Customer Defaults -> Assemblies -> Site Standards -> Reference Sets
Let me know if this wasn't the issue.
