GMAW INCO WPS GAS Question

GMAW INCO WPS GAS Question

GMAW INCO WPS GAS Question

(OP)
I am running a GMAW welding procedure with a P45-P45 material using a F-43(617) filler metal. My question is the gas to be used. Does anyone have any information as to what type of gas is best with this filler and parent material.

Thanks

RE: GMAW INCO WPS GAS Question

Ar-Her mixes are preferred for pulsed and short arc transfer. We use 60% Ar - 40% He. Argon is normally used for Spray transfer; small additions of He are beneficial.

Thanks Stan. I just called the company who makes the filler and they recommended a 75/25% Ar-He mix. I am running a pulse and short-arc wps. Again thanks for your help.
