Diesel Exhaust Rain Trap (Definition)

Diesel Exhaust Rain Trap (Definition)

Diesel Exhaust Rain Trap (Definition)

(OP)
We are working on a project for a portable air compressor bid where they are requesting a rain trap mounted inside the compressor enclosure for the diesel engine exhaust. Does anyone know where I can find a definition/description for this device or a source for an exhaust rain trap?

Regards,

DERAILH

RE: Diesel Exhaust Rain Trap (Definition)

The ones I have seen comprise a regular flapper style rain cap mounted inside of a can with a drain.  Even on paper, it looks ugly.  In practice, it doesn't work all that well.

The flapper really needs to be out in the weather, where if/when it sticks, someone will notice and get it fixed.

its just the way you run the exhaust pipe,
instead of going straight up, there is a T junction
exhaust goes up, drain trap goes down (with a drain on it)
