Chevron Gusset Plate Design

Chevron Gusset Plate Design

Chevron Gusset Plate Design

(OP)
I am looking to design a Chevron braced connection and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to what resource/s I should look at.  My company uses DesconBrace to carry out the bulk of our connection designs; however, chevron braced connections designed in DesconBrace always return a comment regarding stiffening of the gusset plate without describing how one would do this.  Any direction in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Chevron Gusset Plate Design

There is an example on the disc that comes with AISC 13.
Example II.C-5.
HSS braces to a wideflange beam, chevron configuration.
I'm pretty sure it covers designing the gusset thickness.

Thank you ToadJones; I found the example and it looks like it addresses exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks again!
