Fractions in BLOCKFONT

Fractions in BLOCKFONT

Fractions in BLOCKFONT

(OP)
We recently added an updated font library for block font wich included a couple of new symbols that were not previously there ($G and $L) for the greater than or equal to and less than or equal to.

Any how, since then we ahve started to have problems when adding annotations with fractions in, basically the the seperating line no longer appears which makes the text look messy as per the attached image. Any Idea how I can fix it please or what has caused the problem?

Many thanks in advance.

Best regards

RE: Fractions in BLOCKFONT

I see that behavior as well as I also replaced my default 'blockfont' with the one that included the $G and $L symbols (after all, I created that particular font so why not use it instead).  Now the question is WHY?  How in the world did adding those two symbols mess up 3/4 sized fractions, but not the other styles?

I'll have to do a little research on that one and get back to you.

RE: Fractions in BLOCKFONT

Simon,

I've tracked down the culprit and it was NOT really a problem with my updated 'blockfont' file, just that it made the problem more apparent (the problem has been there for some time, just that the old 'blockfont' file never tripped over it).  I'm opening a PR, but until it's actually fixed I think I've found a workaround, but I need to test it first.  If it proves successful, I'll be posting an newer updated 'blockfont' file which should work.  So keep on the lookout for it, OK?

RE: Fractions in BLOCKFONT

OK, Simon (and anyone else who may have downloaded my modified 'blockfont.fnx' file) attached is a new 'blockfont.fnx' file which includes the extra characters I added back in December and which will now allow you to create properly formatted '3/4 sized' fractions.

Please let me know if this solved your problems, OK?

RE: Fractions in BLOCKFONT

As a follow-up, the original problem, which caused the invalid appearance of 3/4 sized fractions, has been fixed and will be in NX 7.5 (since we managed to work around the problem JCBCad found with a differently formatted font file, this was not given a very high priority, so NX 7.5 was the logical release to fix it in).

Anyway, I try to provide updates as to the final resolution for issues which originate here yet end-up being submitted as official PR's.

RE: Fractions in BLOCKFONT

The F8 problem appears to still be with us.

I'll look into it and see what the status is.
