Luer Thread Profile

Luer Thread Profile

Luer Thread Profile

(OP)
I am needing information from some of the medical people out here.

I am trying to find information on the a profile of the luer thread. Searching through the web is not giving me any results. If you have an example of a standard Luer thread you can send me in 2009 format I would greatly really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Hah! Good find Dan. lol

RE: Luer Thread Profile

I got asked by a friend to do some work and I was asked to verify a files thread, but the thread is a luer thread... I know nothing about this type of thread.

I have a file with the thread, but he knows the thread is incorrect he wants to make the true luer thread type which is just a standard luer.

I will see if the site will provide me the info, problem I am thinking is that the file I get will be a dumb solid and will not provide me the info I was looking for when I posted this.

Cheers,

RE: Luer Thread Profile

Scott,

Did you find what you were looking for? I surfed a bit last night and found the ISO references but no dimensions. I have a ton of B-D syringes on hand here and I'd be happy to model one. Problem is, I'm one SW2010. Let me know if I can help.

I have a model in 2010 and like I said it has threads that look like a Luer thread, but the profile is incorrect. I have not been able to find anything about the standard profile or how to make one.

I have 2010 at home if you have or could make a model of a true luer profile that is exactly what I need. I can't believe there is no information about this thread.

My email is on my website, follow the link in my signature.

Thanks!

RE: Luer Thread Profile

Just sent the zip file to your home address Scott. Keep in mind that it is a reverse engineered part, not from the ISO spec. I used B-D syringes, a microscope, calipers, and micrometers to get the dims.

Here's the zip file in case anyone cares to double check.
