ReuseLIB the save folder
ReuseLIB the save folder
(OP)
I have taken a look at the reuseLib the new parts from november - nice. I have looked at how they work. In profiles I have seen that the save folder can be redirected how can I set up for all reuse parts in the add reuse parts dialog.

RE: ReuseLIB the save folder
Customer Defaults -> Gateway -> Reuse Library -> Part Name Definition
...and in the Native NX section you can define your global 'save in' folder (make sure that there actually is a folder defined before you set this default).
Now this procedure is NOT used if you're running NX under TeamCenter. If you are, you'll need to set up your standards inside of TeamCenter.

RE: ReuseLIB the save folder
Basically what I'm saying is that with profiles, generally you do NOT want to create a 'library' of parts which will be referenced by other models but rather unique one-of-kind parts since many times these profiles will be collected together in things like weldments or will have further modeling operations performed on them such as adding holes or other features which would also tend to make them unique, so the idea of collecting them together has less value then it does for discrete parts which will be used over and over again and so duplicates are not desirable and therefore we provide a scheme to create centralize libraries where as for 'profiles' we don't.
Another way to look at this is like going to the Hardware Store. You buy nuts and bolts by the piece and when you take them home they never change. whereas buy a 'profile' is like buying a length pipe where after you take it home you cut it to the length that need for your project and in fact you might cut several different length pieces.
That's about as close as I can come to explaining how and why we set that up to work like it does. I hope it helps.

RE: ReuseLIB the save folder
How can I turn it on - the clone option - in a newly created reuse part - maybe offer this option in existing reuse parts.
