H Pile driving Vibration during concrete placement

H Pile driving Vibration during concrete placement

(OP)
Is there literature that indicates what the allowable vibration from H Pile driving can be while pouring concrete?

RE: H Pile driving Vibration during concrete placement

Depends on the distance from the pile driving.  If more than a few diameters of the pile, it usually isn't a problem.  Check study done at Florida Atlantic University in late 1990's. Don't have a copy, but aware of the study.

RE: H Pile driving Vibration during concrete placement

just went through this on a recent project. it all depends on the wave velocity through the soil which depends on the soil type.

a firm that does materials testing is the person to hire to measure this.
