Riser's protection

Riser's protection

Riser's protection

(OP)
Dear all,

I have a problem to perform the stiffner for corroded riser  platform since the code (API RP2a) doesn't present the statement for repairing that one.
In my analysis by SACS program, the riser can't withstand due to environmental load and the result stated for buckling and collapse may be occured.
How do we sure to repair this riser without re-installing with the new one? and may be any body can help us which code or standard to be support that condition.

Thanks for the advise.

RE: Riser's protection

I assume that you are checking an existing riser which is partly corroded so u have a problem with code requirements to pass the riser CSR.
If that is the case, I would suggest adding more supports for the riser using subsea mechanical clamps or guides, such that the unsupported spans are reduced.
You neeed to remember to avoid locating these clamps/ guides in the splashzone and you should check the riser structural system is total after the installation of the new supports.
