Failed to save - NX6.0

Failed to save - NX6.0

Failed to save - NX6.0

(OP)
N:\Packaging\1062021.prt failed to save (when trying to save N:\Packaging\1062021.prt) with code 1020199 "Unrecognized operating system error see syslog"

Anyone get this error while saving? The other designers have seen this error in the past and they try saving a second time and it works. This time it's not saving.

Any ideas?

RE: Failed to save - NX6.0

Sounds like you're saving to a network mounted volume.  If that's the case, it could have been a problem with the network connection, which is why a few minutes later everything worked.  I don't think it has anything to do with NX or the parts which you're trying to save.

RE: Failed to save - NX6.0

Don't take my word for it because it is risky and I can't vouch for what error messages I got, but on occasion I have experienced cases where the system said it hadn't saved a file, but it had. In general I'd try to save my work in another location, and I certainly shut down the session straight afterwards. Maybe it is even advisable to re-boot your computer under these circumstances. However while running under native I found my assumption that my work may have been lost was contrary to what the error/warning message suggested.

This has occurred on a couple of rare occasions only, so I now tend to check folder contents whenever I get such messages, or even open another session alongside so I can open the saved data and check if it is okay.

John, you are correct. They are saved to a network drive. I was certain it had nothing to do with NX, but wanted to see if anyone else had encountered this.

Hudson, I have had that same issue. Kind of odd, but I do the same and sometimes even reboot.

Thank you.
