New user set preference

(OP)
Morning,

I need to set some user preferences relating to dimension color and precision. When I edit these styles I do not know which function will save setting as user default.

What is the name and location of this function?

Thanks,

I'm a new user, please be patient.

RE: New user set preference

Hi

Please specify which NX version you're using.

I'm on NX 5.  For all those settings you ask for if you go to Preferences -> Visualisation preferences you can set up the whole lot there.

Also, I think you can set everything from the 'Gateway' interface. Go to File -> utilities -> customer defaults. If you change the settings here the results are more likely to be more permanent. But as I don't have admin rights on the system I use I couldn't say for sure...

Solid Edge; I-Deas 7 to 12; NX4 & currently NX5.

RE: New user set preference

If you're talking about changing the Defaults for all future NEW part files, make the changes at...

File -> Utilities -> Customer Defaults -> Drafting -> Annotation

If however you're talking about changing the settings on an existing drawing, and this includes the 'masters' for any templates that you may be using, you will need to use...

Preferences -> Annotation...

...to make these changes for these files.

And if you're talking about actually changing Dimensions which already exist, you will need to edit them using...

Edit -> Annotation -> Annotation Object

...select the desired Dimensions and using the style dialog make your changes and hit OK.
