REPLACE MODEL - MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS

REPLACE MODEL - MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS

REPLACE MODEL - MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS

(OP)
Hello all
This is my first posting in this forum. I'm very new at Catia, my second day. I'm using r18.

I've replaced the CATPart in my CATProduct file using links under the edit menu. The new CATPart is a new version of the original. It's a sheetmetal part with a few holes changed. It also has a new Rev# in the file name. When I open the CATDrawing of this CATProduct & update, the dimensions on the original holes which didn't change are red. I'm assuming this means their no longer associated. My question is is there a way to prevent this up front? If not is there a way to re-route or re-link all the dimensions at once. There are a lot of dimensions in this drawing it's a big part.

Thanks,
James

RE: REPLACE MODEL - MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS

Is the drawing based on the CATPart or the CATProduct?

The drawing is based on a CATProduct, but the only thing in the CATProduct is a single CATPart which is what's shown in the CATDrawing.

RE: REPLACE MODEL - MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS

did you delete and re create a new hole (bad) or modified the existing hole(good)?
