Cloning an assembly that has part family members

Cloning an assembly that has part family members

Cloning an assembly that has part family members

(OP)
In NX 6 I have a need to clone an assembly that has a few components that are members of a part family, and are therefore read only.  When I try the clone, I get a message telling me these parts will be treated as lost.  What is the recommended approach to complete the clone in this case?

RE: Cloning an assembly that has part family members

There is an option to retain components( choose the family parts)
I hope it helps

RE: Cloning an assembly that has part family members

It may not matter the cloned assemblies should still contain the original part family components. If you want to force those also to be renamed then at worst you'd have to do so manually.

Best Regards
