collision detection

(OP)
Trying to use "collision detection" while mating parts in an assembly to catch potential errors. Seems that collision detection is a single command and can only be selected when using the move or rotate component function. Any way to combine with the mating process? Any suggestions or is there another way to do the same thing? SW2008 SP4.0 Thanks...

RE: collision detection

You can't use collision detection or interference detection while the mate command is active.  Either one is a separate command.  Having collision detection active all the time would cause way too much processor overhead.
