Time Dependent Dampers

Time Dependent Dampers

(OP)
I am trying to use CDAMP2 elements with a function based on time.  The goal is to change the damping value at a point in time during the analysis.  I am running an advanced transient non-linear solution.  Function options in FEMAP only show frequency and displacement options.  Any advice?

Also, I tried to create a second set of dampers as birth/death elements and thought it would provide additive damping, but instead they were ignored.  Is there a limit on the number of coincident elements for two nodes?  I was trying 3 springs and 6 dampers (1 of each in each direction).
