Extrude Direction 2 Settings

(OP)
Does anyone know how to alter the settings in the extrude function to enable the direction of extrude to go both ways in direction 2? My software only shows direction of both ways in direction 1. I am using 2007 version of Solid Works software. Thanks in advance

RE: Extrude Direction 2 Settings

You are encountering proper functionality of the software.  Direction1 "Mid Plane" allows you to extrude in two directions, that is why it is not available in Direction2.  If you need, do a Blind extrude in Direction1 and then a Blind extrude in Direction2 in the opposite direction.

RE: Extrude Direction 2 Settings

lol

Why would you need to extrude "both ways" in direction 2?
Direction 2 is only used in combination with Direction 1 and is therefor "the other way".

RE: Extrude Direction 2 Settings

I assume that the question is about using the direction vector and having it different for direction 2.  If this is the case it is best to do 2 different extrudes using the same sketch.

Actually if I reread the question, I don't understand what is beings asked.  Ignore the above response.
