Threaded holes in WAVE linked geometry

Threaded holes in WAVE linked geometry

Threaded holes in WAVE linked geometry

(OP)
I have a die cast aluminum panel that is a "blank" panel consisting of the base geometry and a couple of 4-40 threaded bosses (symbolic threads).  Then for another panel, this blank panel is taken as the start part and some more machining operations are performed on it for the additional features.  So in NX 6, I have this blank panel that I right click on in the ANT and select WAVE->Copy Geometry to Part, to get the blank panel in a new part where I finish creating the extra features of the new part.  Now in my drawing of this new part, I don't have the thread features available on the bosses that are in the original blank panel that I am linked to use the Insert Feature Parameters command on.
Is there a way to get the thread features copied over also, or do I have to insert a seperate thread feature in the new part instead?

RE: Threaded holes in WAVE linked geometry

You'll have to add threaded features to the new part.

Use promote body instead of WAVE. Then the threads will be included in your new part.
