Will temp and humidity affects performance of timing belt system?

Will temp and humidity affects performance of timing belt system?

Will temp and humidity affects performance of timing belt system?

(OP)
Guys

I have a timing system.

Belt material: neoprene belt with reinforced glass
Pulley material: aluminum
ratio: 2:1

Run 1: 25 deg rh80%. No issue. System performance as per expectation.

Run 2: 30 deg rh80%. out of 5 index position, 2 are off by 10 deg.

Run 3: 25 deg rh80%. performance met. No issue

I find it weird bcos the operaing temp for these parts are definately more than 30deg. I wonder whether temp n rh are so critical in this situation or is it due to electronics?

RE: Will temp and humidity affects performance of timing belt system?

It would seem that the problem lies elsewhere; because that 10deg is ALOT whether it be on the driving OR driven member.

As per your own suggestion, take another look at the electronics side.

Can you duplicate the error?

What about "false" signal pickup? (possibly some loose filament on the belt?)

Movement of bracketry?

Grounding issues?

Hi

thanks for your input. Yes, error can be duplicate. I suspect the electronics or some loose parts in the system. However, this seems interesting bcos usually, anything loose will cause every index position to be out. However, it look like it is just 2 out of 5 position. I hope it is not serious design flaw bcos till date, everything including e reliability looks pretty promising
