A format with repeat regions drving the title block??

A format with repeat regions drving the title block??

A format with repeat regions drving the title block??

(OP)
Hello everyone,

I am having a problem with trying to automate the creation of drawings by adding repeat regions to the title block. At the moment I have altered my current format by adding repeat regions to the cells in the title block. Now my title block is performing the same way as a BOM would, and appears to be working fine except for when I'm dealing with an instance from a family table. So let me explain what I'm doing and maybe someone can throw some advice at me. So I go to create a new drawing with my new drawing format and the first drawing I did worked fine. But then I went to do my second drawing and I noticed that it did not fill in my title block correctly. The model happened to be an instance of a family table and the info that was posted in the title block was that of the generic model and not the instance itself. I don't understand what I must do so that the repeat regions I added to my format will gather the correct information. The report symbol I am using in the repeat region is mdl.generic.User-Defined

RE: A format with repeat regions drving the title block??

I am not sure why the repeat regions are not regenerating for you, but you may find it easier to use parameters in your title block rather than a repeat region.  Rather than defining a repeat region in your format file, fill in the title block with the "&" followed by the name of the parameter.  There are a bunch of predefined parameters such as "&todays_date" or you can use the same values you would in a repeat region such as "&mdl.ptc_common_name".

This might give you better luck than using the repeat region feature, unless you need a list to be generated.

Repeat regions are designed for BOM-like functions, where you have a variable number of rows with the same data.

For a titleblock, just use a simple tables with the parameters you need to fill in the information.
