Excel Issues

Excel Issues

Excel Issues

(OP)
I cannot delete rows in Excel 2007 which I am running on Windows 7(the RC Candidate). Every time I tried to delete a row (even a single row) this message pops: "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources. Choose less Data or close other applications"

Please advise.

RE: Excel Issues

I can only say that when using MS Excel 2007 on a Vista computer there is no problem in deleting rows ...

Something is not right ...

RE: Excel Issues

I don't know squat about anything newer than excel 2003 and Windows XP.

However the error message you describe vaguely resembles the error message I get when I have data inadvertantly added to the last row/column of the spreadsheet and try to add a row.  The solution is to delete the errant data, put the cursor into cell A1, and save.

That's a logical problem for adding, not so much for deleting... might be completely in left field.

Of course based on the error message, you might want to retry it with all other applications and spreadsheets closed.

Thanks for your replies- the issue is now occurring intermittently.

RE: Excel Issues

I think you are running out of memmory.  You are running too many programs (or running in the background).

Nope-  its not a memory issue. I have 4 GB to spare_ tried running application in solitude to cancel out any overload (too many processes)- that did not help either>>>

RE: Excel Issues

How bit is this particular worksheet?

Do you have any macros that get executed as a result of the row being deleted?

RE: Excel Issues

Also, sometimes if you have several tabs selected (sheet tabs) like when you want to copy or print several tabs (using ctrl key), it wont let you do things sometimes.  Make sure that is not the case.    I hope I am making sense.
