SAP2000 Wind Loads. How to.

(OP)

I'm having trouble understanding how wind loads are applied in SAP2000. I am confused in between the term "Auto lateral load", "Define -> Load Cases" and "Assign -> Area Loads"

I have Googled, Yahooed, and every XYZed for step by step examples but I can't find one, and it seems that everyone avoids the matter.

I usually understand very quickly how things work, but this time things are not working that way.

It is not a problem with the ASCE Code, and the SAP tutorials are not helping me.

Has anybody there a detailed example that want to share?

Thanks.
R Guerra.
