Steel beam connections

(OP)
Quick question - Table 10-1 in AISC 13th edition lists the beam web available strength per inch thickness for beams that are coped at the top flange only, coped at both flanges, and not coped.  What if the beam is coped at the bottom flange only?

RE: Steel beam connections

If loaded from the top, should be the same as un-coped, think of block shear behavior.

RE: Steel beam connections

Correction: "Same as un-coped less the distance of cope".

d(act) = h - d(cope), use d(act) to check end shear.
