another part attribute question

(OP)
I have been doing some reading on attributes within Teamcenter and NX.
The atrributes in the documentation show a "DB" in them, such as: db_part_name

What is the purpose of the "db", and does it need to be in there?

We are on NX6, and will be going to Teamcenter in a couple months.

RE: another part attribute question

The db_ prefix indicates that the attribute is generated automatically by the database software, TeamCenter in this case.

Customer generated attributes would not have the db_ prefix.

You could have 2 part name attributes in your system: part_name and db_part_name.
