Joints In Reinforced Concrete Slabs
Joints In Reinforced Concrete Slabs
(OP)
I have a large slab with a combination on longitudinal and contraction joints. Within the slab are a number of gullies and aqua channels. The channels are in line and approx. 2m long with a 2m gap between.
Q. should I make sure a joint in the slab runs along the line of aqua channels as if they are placed in the slab they will create a weak area. Or can this be ignored as the floor slab has already been divided into small bays (approx. 6X6m)

A detail showing how the "gullies" and "channels" are to be constructed would help.
