Weld distortion analysis

Weld distortion analysis

Weld distortion analysis

(OP)
Hi all,
basically i am looking for a representative material model to be used in abaqus for a typical welding process simulation in order to know welding induced distortion.

I tried to perform a transient thermal analysis to get a temperature history followed by a quasi static structural fea to get final distorion. However, due to lack of temparature dependent material behaviour in my abaqus model, the results look weired at the welds ( too much distortion).

I m intended to get help on modeling double ellipsoidal moving heat source in thermal analysis, as i am just using constant nodal temperature as approximate heat load whcih is moving. On structural side, correct temperature dependent material properties/model for a  steel used in such kind of analysis which takes care of plasiticty/phasechange/cutoff temp to manage analysis

Any help wud be appreciated.

Regards
Sanjay
