UG shuts down on adding to Part list

UG shuts down on adding to Part list

UG shuts down on adding to Part list

(OP)
Ok.. I have had UG (NX5) close out on me three times this morning.
Question 1: I have an assembly, 45 parts. Some of the parts are showing up in the Parts list table. The parts list does not match what is in PSE. First thing I did was to lock to existing Part list so that adding new lines will start at the top of the table. I then went to input my data into the added lines in the Parts List. First column is the QTY, at this point when I hit enter after inputing the QTY, UG shuts down. NICE.
Question 2: How do you have the Part List table allow you to input your own "callout" (item ) number for each component? I have tried going into each part's Properties-Attributes-and changing the callout number here. I hit apply and have the parts list update, no change. Currently the parts list is sorting my part number, if this helps.
Thanks to all that are working today and can help.

RE: UG shuts down on adding to Part list

It sounds like the assembly is out of sync with the PSE, but that you're trying to drive the assembly structure from the PSE and not the other way around. Experience shows that this often causes problems. Some may say that it should not. All I know is that if you set the PSE to imprecise then open the assembly from the PSE you can build the assembly to suit save the part in NX and have the PSE automatically show itself to be updated to reflect the changes that you made, then you may want to set it back to precise. This was what we have done in the past to sync the two.

If that doesn't work then at least you'll know what was not causing the problem and will have a properly synchronised structure.

The next step would be to presume that something is wrong with the NX drawing file and by trying to perform part clean-ups etc attempt to refresh the data and hopefully get your parts list working properly again.

Best Regards
