Macro recording not working

Macro recording not working

Macro recording not working

(OP)
Hi everyone,  my computer had the 2009 ESP version of solidworks and now I have installed a license of 2010 Premium now.  My Macro record button doesnt do anything, it saves the file when I hit stop button but there is absolutely nothing in that macro file and also the edit button and new button for the macro are disabled until I actually hit stop macro (which I can do multiple times) and then hit cancel on save file. Then it asks me if I want to continue recording and I say NO.  If I say yes or after I hit save file (and assign a name to the macro file) it keeps recording (records nothing though) and wont go in edit mode.  So basically Macros dont work when I try to record a macro.  Please help.

RE: Macro recording not working

Really couldn't say what's going on other than the possibility of a bad install.  I would advise doing a full wipe of SW off your system and a clean reinstall of '10.

Tangentially, as opposed to Excel (pretty good macro recording) the macro recording capability of SW is extrememly un-useful.  You are unlikely to get a working macro, or even a decent starting point for writing one.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys.

RE: Macro recording not working

Bummer.  Instead of recording macros that don't work, you'll have to write them from scratch.
