Importing point file to 2d sketch spline

Importing point file to 2d sketch spline

(OP)
Hi, Everyone on here seems very helpful so I wonder if anyone out there has accomplished something like this. I have a file of points in x,y coords that describe a cam path. I would like to import these points as points in a 2d spline (almost like an "insert spline point" under the spline tools menu) so that I can do a wrap of the 2d sketch onto the cylindrical cam. I've attempted adapting some "import 3d points" macros out there into a 2d version but it never quite worked out. I'm not very proficient with code writing so I thought someone out there might know of a good way. I would appreciate any input on any level. Thank You

RE: Importing point file to 2d sketch spline

Look up Curve Through X, Y, Z Points in the SW Help.  This will do what you want without a macro.  You may need to add a column for the z direction (0.0)

If you have trouble, post your point data and I can create an example for you.

Cheers,

Wow thanks a lot. I never knew that feature was there. It's perfect for what I need.
