(OP)
Its got three cables coming out of the case. What are they for? Is there anyplace online where I can get free operation manual and/or schematic?

All Bodine can tell me is the cable with four wires is for the motor field and armature. There are two other cables coming out of the ash-402. All three cables have the ends cut off. One of the other cables has two wires(black and white) and it goes to the ash-402 forward-brake-reverse switch. The 3rd cable goes to the on-off switch. It has three wires, black, white, green. Green goes to the case. Black and white BOTH go to the on-off switch.

Any help is appreciated,
