AMS4027 compatable to ASME-SB-221 / ASTM-B221

AMS4027 compatable to ASME-SB-221 / ASTM-B221

(OP)
OK I give up!!!
I have been trying to research if a material called out as AMS4027 can be certified with ASME-SB-221 / ASTM-B221?
I have a cert for the ASME-SB-221 but the material call out is AMS4027.
If this is crazy please let me know I'm a machinist not an engineer.

RE: AMS4027 compatable to ASME-SB-221 / ASTM-B221

If the drawing specifies SAE AMS 4027, then you cannot use an ASTM standard material unless your customer accepts a deviation.  In general, aerospace standards like SAE AMS are more stringent than industry stands like ASTM, so your customer may reject this request if it is for a critical part.
