point to point copy

point to point copy

I am using NX6.0.4.3

When I copy something in the Edit>Move command and use "point to point" sometimes the copy goes in the direction opposite to what I expected it to go in.
It did not do it all the time, but the first time I it happened to me I copied two lines, instead of one - and then after it happened that first time it did it every time.

Has anybody else had this problem?

RE: point to point copy

Jerry,

I haven't seen it and don't know the answer, but for those things you can want to use point to point copy for these days I'm inclined to use instance feature because I can! Maybe it isn't really an answer, but it might save you the grief anyway.

RE: point to point copy

Hudson, since we're talking about NX 6.0 you were referring to 'Instance Object', weren't you?

RE: point to point copy

Now that you went and made me think about my use of terminology what I was really thinking of was "instance geometry". The question was rather generic and when you think about it that probably is for the most part a better tool than transformations if you're copying objects.

I was doing a point to point copy (with lines) because I am creating title blocks and drawing borders for the company that I am now at. They are going from Ideas to NX6.

RE: point to point copy

I've had a similar problem in Drafting...

When I do a "Move" copy using point to point or dynamic, it copies lines on the page I did not ask for.

I know its a glitch but thought I'd throw that out there if it helps.

I probably should have mentioned above that I was doing it while in Drafting and on the drawing.
